Michelle Harris

Well here I go again a BIO for my newest artist, Michelle Harris from San Diego! Born and raised here in beautiful San Diego, Ocean Beach and Pt Loma areas to be precise. This 25 year old artist is married to tattooing and her husband Jake. Several months ago a good friend gave me a call and said he heard I was looking for another artist. “Of course I am”, was my reply, “what’s up”? “I have this young lady, she has been my apprentice for the past two years, and she needs a steady street shop to get her going”. “Can you help”? “Can we meet”? “I would like to see her portfolio”. I looked and Rob filled me in on her last year and nine months and her portfolio looked clean and her tattooing solid. Rob wanted to finish the last three months and be sure she was ready for street shop life. Now she is at Flesh Skin Grafix Tattoo. I am happy to have her. She has a great attitude and is a brave young women. I had her tattoo an old time biker last week and she survived, a better person for it. She admitted she was afraid, but had faith Papa would keep her safe. She had some great influence as an apprentice learning from Rob Benavidas and Jackie Dunn-Smith, going to paint night at Tower Tattoo where she learned how to work with water acrylics, painting traditional tattoo designs. There she developed a great sense of color and great shading techniques as a result. She has blended this knowledge with tattoo techniques to produce many inspired original tattoos. Her client list has already started to grow and her work just gets better with time. She loves traditional Sailor Jerry style with a touch of Michelle to make them unique. Now she has the Flesh crew to guide her along the way. She has fit very nicely with the Crew and has a home here at Flesh Skin Grafix.

However there are some disturbing things about her that have me off balance, she’s very cute and has lots of tattoos. She has a very cool haircut,flawless makeup and a great smile add to her persona. Her cloths are perfect! Could she be a spy for another shop? Trying to steal the trade secrets of “The Flesh Crew”? Could she be a former salsa dancer trying to break the habit and is using tattoo as REHAB,NO NO NO….Is her real name Ruby and is she really from Cincinatti Ohio? Is she looking for John?
